When it’s time for a Brand Revolution

How to know you’re in need of a rebrand and what to do about it.

When our client Sandra Piccoli first came to us, she had recently left behind her corporate career to start her business. She wanted to leverage her years of experience and passion for her work to create an impactful legacy.

She got a logo and website created but quickly realized that they weren’t going to work. The language wasn’t clear and the design of her logo was generic and missing the mark. It wasn’t strong or memorable enough to stand out and attract the clients she was looking for. Sandra and her team provide strategy, consulting, coaching and facilitation for corporations.

Her website had the same issue. It was filled with stock images and generic copy.

We started with Brand Camp – which brought clarity around the language and positioning. Through this we created her Brand Foundation including her why statement, brand positioning statement, brand personality and tagline.

After Brand Camp, we created her colour palette, logo, stationery and website. And you’ll see below how much more meaningful and memorable the design is.

The butterfly shape in the middle represents transformation and change. It is made up of two hearts, to reflect our human-focus.

Surrounding it are six crystals, which symbolize the uniqueness of each person and each organization we support. And all these elements together form the shape of a flower, signifying growth.

As I mentioned the old website was generic. It wasn’t positioning Sandra for the right clients with the right budgets. It felt amateurish next to her competitors. So in order to be seen at the same level as her peers, a new website was required.

We designed the website with the help of amazing photography from Hilary Gauld and copy from the talented Janet Nielsen.

Most of the businesses in the same space as Sandra have websites that are very impersonal and filled with stock images or no images at all – especially of their team members. And Sandra is ALL about people so it was important to include the human element in her brand with photos of her and her team throughout the website.

Sandra’s brand is no longer generic and holding her back from earning what she deserves and having the impact she desires! Here’s what she had to say about working together:

Lab Creative is an amazing branding and web design partner.  Laura’s positive disposition, expertise and masterful guidance has been instrumental in the creation of my brand.

I have received very positive feedback from my clients on both my logo and my website.
