Evolving your Brand
A number of years ago Lynn Woodman, a voice and speaking coach, was in need of a new logo for her business that truly represented her brand and the quality of the services she offers. We needed to create an image that would fit her target market of business executives as well as communicate what she does visually. At the time, Lynn had a vision to create a business with several associates and a wide variety of in-person and on-line programs on offer.
However, last year Lynn came the realization that what she REALLY wanted, was to just have a small, single person business – to be a solo entrepreneur. It’s interesting to me as an entrepreneur, how easy it can be to get wrapped up in the “what others expect of you” and the “how others perceive you” and what you “should” be doing vs what you “want” to do. It can be hard to listen to your gut when it comes to running a business, because you think you should just be running it with your head. But – most of the best decisions I’ve made with my own business, were ones that felt right in my gut. And the times I didn’t listen, well, they rarely if ever worked out.
Worrying about how others perceive you can consume you and drive you to create a business that at the end of the day, you don’t really want.
Once Lynn came to this realization and accepted it, she was able to see that her business and its branding needed a change. She still loved the name Voice Power and it fits what she does, so we added By Lynn Woodman in a softer, scripted font to give it a more personal touch. This was a subtle change to the logo, but exactly what was needed.
Once the changes were done to her logo – we recreated her business card, marketing materials, social media graphics and website which you can check out below.
When it comes to your branding, sometimes all you need is a subtle change that matches the evolution of your business. So where are you in your business? Sit back and really dig deep and take a serious look at your business. Is it the business you wanted to build? Are you happy with its direction, or do you need to change course?
Those are all big questions and we’d love to chat if you feel like you’re in a place where something needs to change! Contact us anytime.
