Why Entrepreneurs Need to be Tenacious

...whether or not you identify as an introvert or an extrovert.

Laura Beauparlant international keynote speaker

The definition of the word tenacious is:

  • Not readily relinquishing a position, principle, or course of action; determined.

  • Tending to keep a firm hold of something; clinging or adhering closely.

  • Persisting in existence; not easily dispelled.

As entrepreneurs we MUST have this trait. If we aren't determined, opinionated, persistent and driven – we would struggle to succeed.

We wouldn't be able to have the impact we want to have.

We would give up too soon.

. . .

You started your business for a reason. Why?

You were passionate about something, saw a need, thought you could do something better. You wanted to design your life. All of the above?

Hands up if that's you (I've got both of mine high in the air).

So whether or not you are introverted or extroverted, we all have tenacity in us or we wouldn't be entrepreneurs.

The challenge comes when you create something and then get caught up in fear of putting yourself out into the world. In being judged for your opinions, your passion...your tenacity.

. . .

I met with a client last night for dinner and she asked me "How have made yourself SO successful?" While I still feel like I haven't quite arrived yet, I realized that I have build a business I love and that is thriving and growing. And my client wanted to know how.

I told her it comes down to 3 things.

Visibility. Consistency. Authenticity.

My brand - and yours - are no good if no one knows you exist.

You need to build awareness through blogging, social media, networking, speaking etc...  You need to be consistently visible, consistent in your messaging and visuals – and be your best authentic self!If you're a bad ass, be a bad ass.

If you're academic, be smart.

Don't apologize for who you are. You won't attract everyone, but that's not the point.

The point is to attract the right people. Your dream clients. The ones that light you up.

If you're ready to build a visible, consistent and authentic brand, we'd love to work with you! Book a call with me here.
