Is your business worth dying for?

Imagine this was your last day on earth - would you look back on the time spent building your business with pride or regret? This isn't a morbid curiosity – it's about understanding the value of every day and how you spend it.

The reality is we are all dying a bit every day (yup – I went there.)

We are so terrified of death and the finality of it that we avoid thinking about it. But the truth is, you are trading today for whatever you are spending your time doing – and so am I.

Spending being the key word.

Let me ask you seriously… is your business worth dying for?

It's a heavy question, but sit with it for a moment.

If your business aligns with the impact you want to make and the legacy you hope to leave, that's remarkable. But, does it fulfill you every day? Does it resonate with the core of who you are and what you stand for?

A successful business should translate into a life you're proud to live. If there's a gap between your business and your ideal life, perhaps it's time to rethink your path. Could selling your business pave the way for something that aligns more closely with your true desires?

Do you even know what you truly desire or are you stuck in the ‘shoulds’?

Our reluctance to face death can often lead us to settle into comfortable patterns. (believe me I’ve been there – which is why we moved our family to Sicily last year). But embracing your mortality is a catalyst for change. It can push you to seek out or create a business that's not just profitable but also deeply fulfilling and reflective of your true self. While contemplating our mortality can be daunting, it can also be a powerful motivator to pursue a life and business that are truly rewarding.

The businesses we build should be extensions of ourselves – our dreams and essence. If your current business doesn't feel like it's worthy of trading your life for, it might be time for a bold move.

Reflect on whether your business is truly worthy of your life. If you feel a disconnect, let's have a conversation and explore avenues to ensure you spend every day aligned with your desires and full of meaning.
